The foundation for LEGO® MOC projects, itself built using LEGO® pieces.

I needed a foundation for one of my LEGO® MOC projects. I made it and started decorating it: link 1 and link 2.
The key idea of the project is still the image of agricultural fields from a bird's-eye view. This time, I added a lake and experimented with the vertical part of the foundation.
To depict water in LEGO®, you need a lot of transparent blue pieces. I went through my entire stash and found every piece that was even remotely suitable, then assembled whatever I could from them.
Since I couldn’t find enough pieces in a single color, I tried to depict different depths using shades. However, I still didn’t have enough dark pieces for the edges, so I had to use light ones in some places. Let’s consider these as layers with different water densities (underwater rivers and/or lakes).
I designed the shores using various rocks, mounds of earth, and types of vegetation. And I had some lake transport (you know, those little sightseeing motor ships?) gliding across the water’s surface.
I also tested the vertical part of the foundation, onto which something will eventually be mounted. The current appearance of this structure is used only as an example and will be revised later. Note that the design of the decorative elements allows the vertical part to be mounted in two different directions, perpendicular to each other.
